Crane lowers outer launder of one of six CVD64 continuous concentrators into place
Knelson Gravity Solutions is pleased to report that assembly work at the world’s largest installation of continuous-type centrifugal gravity concentrators is progressing well and the circuit should be fully commissioned during the third quarter of 2009.
“It’s a really impressive site” commented Doug Corsan; VP of Sales after attending an internal project progress review last week at Knelson’s corporate headquarters in Langley.
“The entire assembly team deserves a huge pat-on-the-back for what they were able to accomplish in difficult weather conditions. It was –30C at times but the guys showed a lot of ingenuity and commitment to getting the job done” Corsan added.
The installation is taking place at the Vasilkovskoye Project; a large tonnage greenfield gold deposit in Kazakhstan and will become a show piece for Knelson technology once it is fully operational. At the centerpiece of the gravity circuit is six 300T/hr. KC-CVD64 continuous variable-discharge concentrators that have been installed to process flotation tailings. In addition to these units, there will be two KC-XD70 concentrators that will be installed in the grinding circuit.
“This is a huge endorsement of our continuous technology and we are extremely excited and anxious to get this circuit commissioned and fully operational. This will be one of our largest installations in the world and will be by far the world’s largest installation of continuous type gravity concentrators of any kind” said Corsan.
